Description:
The Rosemount 5400 Series level transmitter is a reliable 2-wire radar level transmitter for liquids and slurries. Designed for outstanding performance in a wide range of applications and process conditions, the Rosemount 5400 Series level transmitter measures level directly and is unaffected by most fluid property changes, including temperature, pressure, vapor gas mixture, density, turbulence, bubbling / boiling, dielectric, pH, viscosity, or crystallization.
The Rosemount 5400 Series level transmitter features an innovative design that delivers best-in-class performance. The non-contact design makes it virtually unaffected by process conditions while no moving parts means little or no maintenance. In addition, the Rosemount 5400 Series level transmitter incorporates advanced signal processing and smart echo tracking features resulting in an accuracy of ±0.1 inch (±3 mm) with Model 5402 and ±0.4 in. (±10 mm) for Model 5401 for measurements up to 115 feet.
The Rosemount 5400 Series level transmitter includes a 5-digit integral monitor that can display level, distance, volume, signal strength, level rate, analog output current, % of range, and internal temperature. The Rosemount 5400 Series level transmitteris a loop-powered device that supports both FOUNDATION ™ fieldbus, and the analog 4-20 mA with superimposed digital HART ®. The Rosemount 5400 Series level transmitter also supports the latest interoperability standards and can easily be integrated into almost any host system.
The Rosemount 5400 Series level transmitter consists of two models: the 5401 is a low frequency transmitter (~ 6 GHz). The 5401 is best used in applications with extreme process conditions. The 5402 is a high frequency transmitter (~ 26 GHz). The 5402 is the preferred choice in most applications because its narrow radar beam offers greater mounting flexibility.

the transmitter can detect and evaluate all echoes
within the tank.
